Book launch and signing: 'Shine On' by Alex Zoboli

On Thursday, July 16th, photographer Alex Zoboli will be at Claire de Rouen, 11a Kingsland Road, to present his new book ‘Shine On' (May 2026).

In the aftermath of Brexit, Alex Zoboli travelled to the UK to document a country grappling with political division and social uncertainty. What began as a response to Brexit gradually opened into a broader look at everyday life across different communities, where conversations often circled around a shared sense of tiredness rather than firm political positions.

Through portraits, landscapes and everyday moments, the project traces a country in transition, where the promises of the past sit alongside the realities of the present. Zoboli photographed cities and towns shaped by economic and social change, as well as communities sustained by solidarity and resilience.

Bringing together work made across the UK, ‘Shine On’ offers a nuanced portrait of contemporary Britain, attentive to both its divisions and its shared experiences. Printed in Italy by Grafiche Antiga, the publication presents a wide-ranging survey of the people, places and conversations encountered during Zoboli’s travels.
