The project began with a collection of cassette tapes Sikka found in a Los Angeles thrift store. Their two sides, joined by a single magnetic ribbon, became the framework for the book, which is divided into Side A and Side B. These follow two road trips taken months apart. In the first, Sikka drives his daughter to Los Angeles to start film school and introduces her to America along the way. In the second, he retraces the route to bring her home after her first semester. Rather than telling a straight story, the book uses rhythms of departure and return to explore distance, memory, fatherhood and the passing of time. It is a tender and inventive work of contemporary documentary photography, and a must for collectors of Sikka’s celebrated Fw:Books titles.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Bharat Sikka","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":56483853271425,"sku":null,"price":39.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0603\/7613\/files\/IMG_9871_05684ce7-b52c-4dd4-951b-38785ab2d357.jpg?v=1794056293","url":"https:\/\/www.clairederouenbooks.com\/products\/a-set-of-tapes","provider":"Claire de Rouen","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
