A blend of travelogue, musings and poetry, haunted by the absence of home, estrangement from a lover and family tragedies. Iduma travels from Dakar to Douala, Bamako to Benin, and Khartoum to Casablanca. The episodes include an arrest in a market in N'djamena and meeting Malick Sidibé in Bamako, and photographs are woven through the text. It has a foreword by Teju Cole and was longlisted for the RSL Ondaatje Prize 2019.
