Published by Inventory Press in 2025, German Theater 2010–2022 is the first major monograph on the collaborative practice of American artists Calla Henkel and Max Pitegoff. Organised around the sequence of bars and theater spaces the pair ran in Berlin — Times Bar (2011–12), New Theater (2013–15), Grüner Salon at the Volksbühne (2017–18), and TV Bar (2019–22) — the book draws together their photographs, plays, writings, and films. Their work examines the mechanisms that shape creative communities: the social and economic systems that sustain communal exchange, and their eminently fragile autonomy. 376 pages, 311 colour illustrations.
