The softcover features an essay by Taous Dahmani and is designed by Hans Gremmen. Van Wyk was born in South Africa in 1993, in the final months of apartheid, under a system that would have classified her as “coloured”, and was partly raised in the Netherlands. Her richly layered photographs explore the deep historical ties between the two countries, from migration and race to the lasting legacies of colonialism and apartheid. Combining family portraits, self-portraits, archival references and reclaimed cultural symbols, she builds a personal mythology that celebrates mixed identity and claims the right to define herself. Published alongside her first solo museum exhibition at the Fotomuseum in The Hague, it is a powerful and moving contemporary photobook.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Farren van Wyk","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":56483867951489,"sku":null,"price":45.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0603\/7613\/files\/IMG_9887.jpg?v=1794056635","url":"https:\/\/www.clairederouenbooks.com\/products\/mixedness-is-my-mythology-signed","provider":"Claire de Rouen","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
