Hanabi (Japanese for “fireworks”) is a photobook by Rinko Kawauchi that explores the fleeting nature of perception, memory, and light through images of fireworks and their atmospheric traces. Rather than documenting fireworks as spectacle, Kawauchi focuses on their residual effects—glows, smoke, bursts, and reflections—thereby rendering them quiet, meditative phenomena.
