A pocket-sized reference guide to words and ideas currently under threat from authoritarian shifts around the world. Each censored word is paired with a hand gesture proposed by AI, creating an absurd lexicon that sits somewhere between speculative sign language and technical glitch. The AI's famously imperfect fingers twist and strain to express concepts under ideological attack. The result is both funny and unsettling: a reminder of what can be lost, and a prompt to question how every image we see now is made.

The book grows out of Eesly's video work Endangered Gestures, which received recognition from the Prix Ars Electronica 2026 jury. They praised how its contorted hands capture a moment when every image must be treated with suspicion.
